We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with our inmate search function, causing some inaccuracies in the online roster. We are working to get this problem resolved as quickly as possible, and we thank you for your patience as we update and streamline our website so that it reflects the most accurate, up to date information possible. If you are unsure about something you see on our inmate roster, please call the office at 985-839-3434 and we will be able to confirm or deny the presence of an inmate through our internal systems. This message will be removed once the system is working properly.

As Sheriff, my goal is to ensure that our deputies do three things; Preserve the peace in our communities, Protect the lives, rights, and property of our citizens, and Promote the general welfare of everyone in the Parish. I am committed to making institutional changes that will build trust within the community and help law enforcement to prevent and respond to crime, improving the quality of life for all our families.
Operate in Districts Throughout the Parish - Each district will have one Captain who will be responsible for Investigations and patrolling in that district. This will increase response times, provide for officer safety, encourage community involvement, and ensure there is accountability for our actions.
Increased Our Presence in Bogalusa - One of the districts will be directed to work with the Bogalusa PD in order to increase security within the city limits.
Centralize Dispatch - We will relocate our dispatch section to the Emergency Operations Center and be the proof of concept for the other agencies.
Engage the Community - We will institute a Vulnerable Person Registry where families can sign up if they have an elderly person who lives alone, a dependent with special needs, or another family member with challenging circumstances. The goal is to give our deputies a more clear picture of the situation when called out to a particular address. In the case of elderly people who live alone, we will have a deputy call and check in on them regularly.
Build a New Jail Facility - The current facility is poorly located, significantly outdated, and expensive to maintain. Building a new one is a long term project that we are already working on. Our goal is to build it close to the Emergency Operations Center, on donated land from the State, with enough acreage to centrally locate all of the operational aspects of the Sheriff’s office.
Some of these items will be more immediately apparent than others, but I can assure everyone that we are working to implement all of them as quickly, and as efficiently, as possible. My goal is to have well trained, well led, and well-equipped deputies; a culture of professionalism and not politics; and we will set the standard for peace officers in Louisiana.
